Licence Levels for YCBA Events
The management committee has agreed that systems and conventions which conform to the following EBU licence levels
will be permitted in YCBA events. For full details, please refer to the EBU 'Orange Book' 2006.
Broadly speaking, Level 3 is like the old General Licence, which most people are used to. Level 2 is similar,
but slightly more restrictive. (For example, the multi-2D is not permitted at level 2.) Level 4 is commonly used
in green-pointed events and will apply to most EBU events. It is felt that some YCBA events should be run at this level,
because those who play in them are likely to go on to represent Yorkshire in national events, and should have some
opportunities to engage with level 4 systems and conventions at the county level, to gain experience and improve
their match play. Most YCBA competitions will remain at Level 3, as at present, but these arrangements will be
subject to regular review. If members wish to propose changes, they should write to the committee via the YCBA Secretary
